Job summary

Queensland Health is seeking a Scientist - Microbiology to support timely pathology results delivery. You will perform routine and complex microbiology testing, following accredited protocols within all areas of Microbiology and MDU, applying increasing independent judgment under supervision, and delivering accurate client results in a NATA accredited lab.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skills within a Microbiology/MDU laboratory.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in a multi-skilled laboratory team independently and under supervision of more senior practitioners.
• Demonstrated knowledge within a Microbiology/Molecular/PCR laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex testing of samples following accredited protocols and standards.
• Apply independent scientific judgement to complex problems.
• Deliver quality results while adhering to accreditation standards.
• Identify and implement quality and service improvement activities in line with ISO/NATA accreditation.
