Qualifications

• Perform a diverse range of tasks in the Microbiology Specimen Reception area to a consistently high standard in accordance with established laboratory protocols.
• Demonstrated operational knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in relation to specimen processing and preparation within the Microbiology and Molecular Microbiology Pathology Queensland laboratory.
• Demonstrated word processing skills, and computer data input and retrieval skills.
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with a high level of attention to detail.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team independently and at times without direct supervision.
• Be proficient in the use of laboratory equipment (e.g. centrifuges, cytospin, staining machine).
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
• Demonstrated literacy and numeracy skills.
