Job summary

ALS Food & Pharmaceutical Division operates a modern laboratory in Rydalmere, Sydney. We seek a Laboratory Technician to join our Microbiology team, delivering quality results on time while maintaining strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a science qualification or Lab Certificate IV, with good communication and organisational skills and a commitment to quality, safety, and client service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education in science, preferably microbiology.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail and safety.
• Able to work autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing including Food, Pharmaceutical and/or Water samples.
• Conduct extraction procedures per ALS Quality Work Instructions and QA/QC compliance.
• Organise tasks for daily efficiency and meet timelines.
• Report anomalies in results or samples to Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Follow GLP and SOPs.
• Assist in laboratory investigations and reporting.
• Maintain housekeeping and calibrate equipment.
• Manage consumable stock and assist with additional duties.
• Use calibrated equipment and follow quality procedures.
• Comply with HSE policies and state OHS legislation.
• Promote safety culture in the lab.
