Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria is seeking a Workforce Development Supervisor for Corrections Victoria. The role provides leadership for learning, development and training across the metropolitan region, enabling staff to engage in relevant development opportunities and build capability in partnership with prison executives and key stakeholders.

This fixed-term, full-time position requires compliance with AQTF standards and may include weekend and public holiday work,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of competency-based training and assessment methods.
• Ability to coordinate teams and provide internal consultancy.
• Experience designing, facilitating and implementing training programs.
• Understanding of program evaluation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate pre-service training for the Metro Region.
• Support and advise squad managers regarding expected standards, recruit behaviour, performance management and daily management of the program.
• Liaise with metro WDS' to coordinate facilitators/instructors, dates, times and locations for pre-service training to be scheduled.
• Manage the onboarding of new employees' access to Corrections Victoria electronic platforms.
• Promote a learning environment that ensures compliance with all legislative and corporate governance requirements and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) standards.
• Assist RTO Programs to ensure Squad leaders meet VRQA requirements.
