Job summary

New Plumbing Solutions is seeking Water Metering Technicians for field-based roles across our Australia-wide projects. You will start your day with scheduling, travel in a fully equipped vehicle, and service 35+ properties daily, recording data via a mobile app and logging each job before moving on.

Ideal candidates have mechanical aptitude, labour experience, and a strong commitment to accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hand tools.
• Experience in labour, digging, outdoor work/Plumbing/Metering.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Aptitude for problem solving.
• Attention to data accuracy.
• Reliable, punctual and capable of meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to do bending, squatting and walking; physically fit.
• Current driver’s licence and red/white card.

Responsibilities

• Replace and maintain water meters and assemblies.
• Follow correct meter replacement procedures.
• Provide customer service face-to-face and by phone.
• Work within budgets and timeframes.
• Maintain regular communication with the office support team.
• Keep accurate and timely digital job installation records.
• Perform tasks in line with OH&S policies and procedures.
• Work independently daily and according to schedule.

New Plumbing Solutions is building our team of Water Metering Technicians for upcoming projects – and we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing – A Day in the Life

This Is a Field-based Role

• Start your day by checking your schedule
• Head out to site in your fully equipped tool of trade vehicle
• Attend approx 35+ residential or commercial properties per day
• Perform field metering activities including Installing/replacing meters, installing/replacing data loggers and completing metering investigations, where required
• Help our plumbers, as required
• Accurately record meter specifications and site data using a mobile app
• Log each completed job on our mobile app before moving to the next

Key Responsibilities, Include But Are Not Limited To

• Water Meter replacement & assembly maintenance.
• Follow correct replacement procedures.
• Customer Service – face to face and phone
• Perform tasks within budgets and time frames.
• Communicate regularly with office support team
• Maintain accurate and timely digital job installation records
• Ensure that all tasks are performed in a manner consistent with state and company OH&S policies and procedures.
• Work independently day to day and to a schedule

About You

We are looking for reliable and dedicated individuals to help us on a variety of ongoing projects. The ideal candidates will possess the following:

• Strong mechanical aptitude – proficient with hand tools.
• Experience in labour role, digging, physical outdoor work/Plumbing/Metering
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
• An aptitude for problem solving
• Attention to detail – Data Accuracy is a MUST!
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of meeting deadlines
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work under supervision both individually and occasionally in a team setting.
• Able to do a lot of bending, squatting and walking (physical fitness)
• Ability to work in most weather conditions.
• Flexible and comfortable with daily travel
• A current driver's licence
• A red/ white card
