Job summary

Fabcon Project Group pty ltd – Wetherill Park NSW is seeking a hands-on estimator/draughtsman with experience in metalwork, steel or aluminium fabrication. The role focuses on reading construction drawings, performing take-offs, and producing accurate quotations and shop drawings for projects.

You will review plans and specifications, calculate quantities and fabrication costs, and prepare tender pricing. The ideal candidate has strong numerical skills, attention to detail and good communication

Qualifications

• Experience in metalwork estimating and drafting.
• Strong ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
• Experience completing measurements and quantity take-offs.
• Experience preparing quotations and tender pricing.
• Understanding of steel and aluminium fabrication.
• Good knowledge of material and labour requirements.
• Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural, structural and construction drawings
• Read and interpret plans, specifications and project documentation
• Measure and complete accurate material take-offs
• Prepare detailed quotations for upcoming projects
• Calculate material quantities, labour requirements and fabrication costs
• Request and review supplier pricing where required
• Prepare pricing for variations and additional works
• Assist with tender submissions
• Follow up quotations and liaise with builders and clients
• Prepare detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings
