Job summary

Ministry of Fabrication Pty Ltd – Unanderra NSW is seeking an experienced Drafter / Estimator to join our growing fabrication team. This hands-on role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings and taking projects from enquiry through accurate estimating to detailed workshop drawings for structural steel and architectural aluminium.

You will review enquiries, prepare quotations, produce workshop drawings, and estimate labour, materials and subcontractor costs while liaising with

Qualifications

Previous experience in fabrication drafting and/or estimating.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
Strong estimating and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Reviewing customer enquiries, plans and specifications.
Preparing accurate quotations and estimates for fabrication projects.
Producing detailed workshop and fabrication drawings.
Preparing material take-offs and estimating labour, materials and subcontractor costs.
Liaising with clients, suppliers, engineers and the workshop.
Reviewing designs for fabrication practicality and cost efficiency.
Preparing cutting lists, job sheets and fabrication documentation.
Assisting with project planning and production scheduling.
Following projects through from estimating to manufacture.
Ensuring drawings and estimates are accurate, practical and commercially viable.
