Job summary

Haven Fencing, Bayswater, seeks an experienced Draftsman to create concept, approval and detailed shop drawings for custom steel and aluminium fencing and gates. The role spans design through production, with site checks as required.

The successful applicant will be highly organized, practical, and capable of taking ownership of a job from start to finish, including collaboration with the production team and customers.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications in drafting or architecture are not essential; practical ability and AutoCAD proficiency are more important.
• Experience with steel or aluminium fabrication, fencing, gates, architectural metalwork or similar custom manufacturing environment would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Prepare concept drawings based on customer requirements and project information.
• Produce elevations and approval drawings for customers before manufacture.
• Prepare accurate shop drawings for production.
• Revise drawings following customer feedback or production queries.
• Create basic 3D models or renderings as needed.
• Maintain clear and accurate drawing records for each project.
• Prepare take-offs, worksheets and production documentation.
• Calculate and order materials and send specifications to suppliers.
• Check drawings, measurements, materials and finishes before manufacture.
• Attend sites to complete check measures when requested and familiarise with products.
