Job summary

Evolution Mining in Kalgoorlie is seeking a hands-on laboratory technician to support plant performance. You will maintain lab equipment, undertake sampling and tests, and ensure reliable data delivery, working closely with the processing team. The role offers a 5:2:4:3 roster (10-hour days) and requires local residence with permanent working rights. Training and safe practices are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Proven laboratory experience, ideally within a metallurgical or gold processing environment.
• Confidence using Excel to capture, track and interpret data.
• Ability to take ownership of your tasks and work autonomously.
• A strong safety mindset and pride in keeping a clean, well-organised lab.
• A desire to keep learning and build your capability on site.
• Full Working Rights (Citizenship or Permanent Residency)
• Reside locally in Kalgoorlie and able to work a 12 hour day.
• Hold a WA C Class (manual) Drivers Licence

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, this is a hands-on, lab-based role supporting processing plant performance.

The role involves maintaining lab equipment, completing sampling and test work, and making sure data is accurate and reliable to support plant outcomes.

It works closely with the processing team, with a mix of guidance and autonomy in managing day-to-day tasks.

There’s also a focus on keeping the lab organised and running smoothly, including equipment reliability and timely data delivery in line with team KPIs. It’s a great opportunity to gain exposure to site operations and build practical mining experience.

This role is offered on a 5:2:4:3 roster (10-hour days) and is only open to candidates residing in the Kalgoorlie/Boulder region with permanent working rights.

About You

You enjoy hands-on work and take pride in doing it well. You’re reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

You bring experience from a laboratory environment and are keen to build on it in a site-based role. Most importantly, you have a positive attitude, a strong focus on safety, and a willingness to learn.
