Job summary

Collier and Miller in Griffith NSW is seeking a qualified Metal Machinist for a permanent full-time role. The successful candidate will study drawings and specifications, set up machinery, and fit metal parts to produce complex machines and equipment.

The ideal candidate has a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical trade and at least 3 years of related experience, with familiarity in beams lines and plasma plate cutting. Location is Griffith NSW and employment is full-time.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical trade.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a related field.
• Experience with beams lines and plasma plate cutting.

Responsibilities

• Study and read drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings.
• Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts to produce machines and equipment.
• Set up guides, stops and other controls on machining tools and set up prescribed cutting and shaping tools in machines and presses.
• Form metal stock and casting to tight tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal.
• Cut hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines, install them as required.
• Diagnose faults and perform maintenance of machines and hydraulic/fluid power equipment.
