Job summary

Collier and Miller in Griffith NSW is seeking a qualified Metal Machinist to join the manufacturing department. The successful candidate will study drawings, select materials, set up machines and assemble parts to produce machines and equipment.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade, has a minimum of 3 years’ experience, and experience with beams lines and plasma plate cutting. Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical trade.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field.
• Experience with beams lines and plasma plate cutting.

Responsibilities

• Study and read drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings.
• Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts to produce machines and equipment.
• Setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools in machines and presses, and setting controls for machines.
• Forming metal stock and casting to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut and drill metal.
• Cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
• Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machine, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
