Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland’s Lifeline division seeks a Sorting, Production and Merchandise Clearance Supervisor to lead the Sunshine Coast warehouse operations, overseeing sorting, production flows and merchandise clearance processes. You will manage staff and volunteers, optimise stock, pricing, and merchandising to drive profitability and customer value.

You will collaborate with store teams, apply best-practice warehouse management, monitor performance, and contribute to safety and budget goals

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supervising staff and volunteers in a retail, warehouse, or logistics environment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including stock flow, inventory management, and production workflows.
• Experience in retail operations, including merchandising, pricing, and monitoring sales performance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all aspects of sorting, production, and merchandise clearance operations, ensuring integration and efficiency across the end-to-end process from receipt of goods to clearance.
• Provide formal leadership to the Sorter team and build productive relationships with store teams including staff and volunteers, aiding in achievement of financial targets.
• Monitor industry trends and best practice in retail and warehouse management, applying relevant learnings to the local context.
• Identify and implement strategies to maximise profitability, including stock management, pricing, merchandising, and promotional activities.
• Take accountability for contributing to achieving budgeted revenue and expense targets for the warehouse and clearance program, including monitoring and reporting on financial performance.
• Produce and update rosters, adjusting tasks based on daily workflow requirements.
• Analyse business performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations to the Business Manager.
• Oversee the management of GST delivery, daily fulfilment of shop orders, and ensure accurate and timely reporting of operational data.
• Represent the warehouse and Clearance Function in organisational meetings, projects, and initiatives as required.
• Provide coaching and support to team members in the Warehouse and stores to foster engagement, accountability and cross unit collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with organisational safety standards and promote a culture of safety.
