Job summary

Hireup, Australia-wide platform, is seeking empathetic Mental Health Support Workers in Sydney to help people with complex support needs live independent lives. You will provide personal care, assist with daily activities, and support social participation within the NDIS framework.

The role offers flexible hours, competitive pay under the disability services award, paid training, and 24/7 support from Hireup’s team to help you deliver safe, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Experience in Mental Health, specifically in community services.
• Passion for mental health support and understanding of psychosocial disability.
• Experience and passion in recovery-oriented practices with a community and non-clinical approach.
• Confidence in identifying risk and reporting to our support office team.
• Trauma-informed with understanding of impacts on those with complex trauma.
• Experience supporting individuals who may experience suicide ideation or crisis.
• Good understanding of psychosocial disability under the NDIS.
• High communication skills and ability to adapt communication styles.
• Thrive in challenging environments and work independently.
• Strong active listening and negotiation skills to resolve issues.
• Understanding of self-care and professional boundaries.
• Adaptability, resilience, transparency, and trustworthiness in making positive human connections.
• Lived or living experience is highly regarded.
