As a mental health-focused support worker, you will adapt to individual needs, follow recovery-oriented practices, and work closely with clients to promote safety and wellbeing. Flexible shifts and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in Mental Health, specifically in community services.
• Passionate about mental health support and understanding challenges for people living with psychosocial disability.
• Experience delivering recovery-oriented practices in community and non-clinical settings.
• Confident in identifying risk and reporting to the support office team.
• Trauma-informed approach and understanding impacts of complex trauma.
• Experience supporting individuals who may experience suicide ideation or crisis.
• Good understanding of psychosocial disability under the NDIS.
• High communication skills with adaptable communication styles.
• Thrive in challenging environments and work independently.
• Strong active listening, negotiation skills, and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide support with personal care, transport to appointments, and daily living tasks.
• Assist with shopping and community access activities.
• Read and implement complex support plans.
• Support social and community connections for individuals.
• Assist with crisis management and connecting clients to professional networks.
