Job summary

A large Melbourne organisation is seeking a hands-on Oracle PL/SQL developer to take on a complex, business-critical application estate on a 12-month contract.

You'll be in the code daily, performing design, development, testing and maintenance across a legacy environment, with minimal supervision and no architecture or team leadership. You'll untangle issues, optimise performance and ensure stability within an established SDLC.

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL performance analysis and tuning.
• Experience inside a large, established codebase.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities.
• Structured SDLC, coding standards, code reviews, and version control.
• Patience working with third-party vendors.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain Oracle and PL/SQL solutions across a complex, high-availability portfolio.
• Root cause analysis and defect resolution on difficult application and database issues.
• Work through a structured SDLC with design governance, code review and change management.
• Support environment stability, deployments and vendor release activity.
