Job summary

Experis is seeking a hands-on Oracle PL/SQL developer in Melbourne for a 12-month contract. You will own design, development and maintenance of Oracle/PL/SQL solutions within a complex, high-availability environment.

Responsibilities include root cause analysis, defect resolution and working within a structured SDLC with code reviews and change management. You will also support deployments and vendor release activity, while collaborating with third-party vendors as needed.

A large Melbourne organisation is looking for a hands-on Oracle PL/SQL developer to take on a complex, business-critical application estate on a 12-month contract.

It's a genuine legacy environment with years of change layered on top of each other, across a mix of vendor products and in-house builds. You'd be the person who learns it properly, keeps it running, and untangles it as you go. The person who currently holds it together is moving onto a major program, so they need someone who can take it off him and stand on their own reasonably quickly.

This is hands-on development. No architecture, no team leadership, you'll be in the code every day, solving hard problems with minimal supervision.

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop, test and maintain Oracle and PL/SQL solutions across a complex, high-availability portfolio
• Root cause analysis and defect resolution on difficult application and database issues
• Work through a structured SDLC with design governance, code review and change management
• Support environment stability, deployments and vendor release activity
