Job summary

BD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support pharmacy automation and medication management systems across retail pharmacy and hospital environments in Australia. You’ll service BD Rowa, Pyxis, and infusion pumps, performing remote diagnostics and on-site repairs as needed.

Based in Cairns or willing to relocate, you’ll travel across North Queensland, conduct preventive maintenance, installations, and customer handovers, and document activities while maintaining safety checks and records.

Qualifications

• Background in mechatronics, electro-mechanical systems, electronics or automation.
• Experience servicing complex systems at customer sites—robotics, automation or lab instruments.
• Strong diagnostic skills across hardware, software and networks.
• Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve software/hardware issues quickly to minimise downtime.
• Provide technical support for BD Rowa and Pyxis capital equipment.
• Perform field repairs, preventive maintenance, system testing and safety checks.
• Support installations, commissioning and customer handover.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
