Job summary
Cochlear, the global leader in implantable hearing solutions, offers a full-time Embedded Software Engineering Manager role based in Sydney, Macquarie Park. You will lead a squad responsible for delivering embedded software features supporting Cochlear’s hearing solutions, balancing technical excellence with delivery commitments.
You will work with Architects, Systems Engineers, Program Managers, Quality teams, and Product stakeholders to shape technical direction, drive reviews, and develop
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in embedded software development environments.
- Experience leading engineering teams responsible for software design, implementation and delivery.
- Strong understanding of embedded software development, architecture and system design.
- Proven experience operating within Agile software development environments.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as medical devices or aerospace.
- Understanding IEC 62304, ISO 14971 and risk management practices.
Responsibilities
- Leading a squad of embedded software engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Driving technical execution, design reviews and engineering decision-making.
- Coaching, mentoring and developing engineers to maximise team capability and engagement.
- Partnering with architecture, systems and delivery teams to align technical and business priorities.
- Ensuring compliance with software development processes and quality standards.
- Driving continuous improvement across engineering practices, delivery processes and technical excellence.
