Job summary

Sydney Child Development Specialists – Lindfield NSW, a paediatric clinic on Sydney’s North Shore, seeks an experienced Medical Receptionist to foster a warm, welcoming environment for children and families while supporting daily operations and growth.

The role combines reception and admin duties with supervising reception and junior staff. You will coordinate daily priorities, assist clinic management and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on receptionist experience in a medical specialist, psychology, or allied health clinic.
• Demonstrated leadership and experience in leading a team.
• Ability to identify and resolve daily issues & problems.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervising, training and supporting reception and junior administration staff.
• Coordinating daily workloads, allocating tasks and monitoring their completion.
• Reviewing work by the Scheduling Officer to manage appointments and clinician schedules.
• Reviewing work by intake and support staff to ensure patient forms and referrals are complete.
• Overseeing billing, receipts and Medicare claims.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and handling confidential information.
• Resolving patient concerns and administrative issues, escalating to clinic management when required.
• Identifying opportunities to improve clinic procedures, workflows and the patient experience.
• Maintaining a tidy, organised and welcoming clinic environment.
