Job summary

IUIH invites applications for a Medical Receptionist – MATSICHS role in Margate, Queensland. The successful candidate will deliver high-standard front-desk service, manage client appointments, and support the clinic team with data and claims processing.

The role requires Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status as a genuine occupational requirement in line with our commitment to Closing the Gap in Indigenous health. Training and a supportive multidisciplinary team are provided.

• Current Criminal History Check.
• Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
• Current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card).
• Current CPR Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to appointment processes to optimize booking and attendance, manage daily lists, confirm attendance with patients, and handle changes or follow-ups.
• Prepare client files and materials for daily appointments for clinic health professionals and visiting staff.
• Provide client services across clinic offerings including General, Family and Child Health, Podiatry, Optometry.
• Process PIP, Medicare, and Work-cover claims accurately and reconcile with income; follow up on discrepancies.

About the role

As Medical Receptionist – MATSICHS, your role is responsible for provision of a high standard of customer service, effective and efficient administration of client appointments, client data and client claims processing; plus, the provision of general administrative support to the Clinic Team. The position will actively contribute to the achievement of the Clinics business objectives, including increased practice patient numbers, attendance rates and billings.

Your day to day duties may include:

• Adhere to practices to achieve high booking and attendance rates, including checking time requirements for each appointment, coordinating daily lists, ringing patients to confirm attendance, managing changes and follow up appointments, monitoring and managing patient flow /wait times within the day.
• Prepare for daily appointments by providing the client files and relevant materials available to clinic health professionals and visiting health professionals.
• Provision of client services to all clients to the clinic including allied health and specialist health services, i.e. General, Family and Child Health, Podiatry, Optometry
• PIP, Medicare Claims and Work-cover claims are processed in accurate and timely fashion.
• Claims are reconciled against received income and errors/discrepancies followed up.
