Job summary

Moreton Bay Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Cleveland, QLD, is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join the front-of-house team. The role is casual, three days per week, with the day-to-day duties focusing on patient contact, appointment scheduling, and billing support in a specialist women’s health practice.

You will work closely with the specialists and team, using Genie practice management software to ensure smooth daily operations and a calm, welcoming environment for patients.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a medical receptionist.
• Experience with Genie software is highly regarded.
• Excellent phone manner and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and empathy.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly with billing and Medicare/health fund claims.
• Team player in a small, supportive practice.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients and managing front-of-house reception in a specialist medical setting.
• Scheduling and managing specialist appointments.
• Answering phones and managing patient enquiries.
• Managing billing, Medicare and health fund claims, and payments.
• Using Genie practice management software for patient records, scheduling and billing.
• Liaising with referring GPs and other healthcare providers.
• General administrative support, including mail, filing, correspondence and stock management.

About the role

This is a casual position working 3 days per week from our Cleveland rooms. As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key role in creating a calm, welcoming experience from the moment they call or walk through the door. You'll work closely with our specialists and small support team, using Genie practice management software to keep the day running smoothly.
