Job summary

Integral Diagnostics (IDX Group) is seeking a friendly Casual Medical Receptionist to join our front desk teams at Gladstone Hospital and our private clinic on Dawson Road. You will be the first point of contact for patients accessing imaging services across X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and Interventional Procedures.

You will manage bookings, payments, and referrals, work closely with wards and the clinical team, and contribute to a patient-centred experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare reception (medical imaging, dental, or allied health) is preferred.
• Professional, approachable communication both in person and over the phone.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or practice management systems is advantageous.
• Collaborative, proactive attitude with high integrity.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and create a welcoming first impression.
• Manage bookings, billing, and payments (Medicare, health funds, EFTPOS).
• Coordinate with Medical/Surgical wards and the technical team.
• Handle inpatient procedure and CT injection bookings.
• Liaise with referrers and doctors for appointments and results.
• Attend staff meetings and ongoing training sessions.
• Adhere to WH&S and company policies.

We also collaborate closely with our Sunshine Coast Radiology colleagues, providing services across both private clinics and hospitals.

About the Role

We're looking for a friendly and motivated Casual Medical Receptionist to join our welcoming front desk teams at Gladstone Hospital and our private clinic at Dawson Road. As the first point of contact, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients accessing a full range of imaging services - from X-ray, Ultrasound , CT to MRI and Interventional Procedures Enjoy the flexibility of a casual position with varied Monday to Friday shifts between 6:30am and 6:00pm, with no weekends, making it easier to maintain a great work-life balance.

A Day in the Life

• Greeting patients and creating a welcoming first impression
• Managing bookings, billing, and payments (Medicare, health funds, EFTPOS)
• Working closely with Medical/Surgical wards and our technical team
• Inpatient procedure and CT Injection bookings
• Coordinating with referrers and doctors for appointments and results

• Maintaining compliance with workplace health & safety and company policies

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

• Previous experience in healthcare reception (Medical Imaging, Dental, Allied Health or similar) - highly regarded
• A professional, approachable, and confident communication style - in person and over the phone
• Knowledge of medical terminology or practice management systems (an advantage)
• A collaborative, proactive attitude and high integrity
• A well-presented and patient-focused approach
• Excellence in customer service delivery in order to exceed patient and referrer expectations.
