Job summary

Slater and Gordon is seeking a Media and Communications Adviser to join the Corporate Affairs team in Melbourne. The role spans media relations, client storytelling, content and awards, with a focus on clear, client-centred communication and brand strength.

You will contribute to proactive and reactive media efforts, translating complex legal information for broad audiences and building strong journalist relationships in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Graduated in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
• At least three years in media relations, communications or journalism in-house, agency or newsroom.
• Experience preparing media releases, pitches, statements or briefing notes.
• Experience coordinating media monitoring, distribution or reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support media relations across client storytelling, content and awards.
• Develop accurate, client-centred stories that strengthen the brand.
• Manage proactive and reactive media for multiple practice areas.
• Translate legal or technical information into plain English quickly and accurately.
• Monitor, distribute and report on media coverage; assist with awards submissions.
