Job summary

Wood is currently recruiting for Mechanical Supervisors near Port Campbell for Brownfield SMP Projects and Maintenance SIB works starting in late September.

The Mechanical Supervisors will provide day to day supervision of the Mechanical and Piping teams in the delivery of work, to meet safety, operational reliability, quality, financial and productivity targets. Duties include planning, coordinating shutdown activities, and upholding Wood's HSE programs.

Qualifications

• Essentially hold a relevant technical or trade qualification and a current construction white card.
• Must possess a current driver’s licence.
• Prior supervisory experience in mechanical/piping teams is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of Mechanical and Piping teams to meet safety, reliability, quality, and productivity targets.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee shutdown activities ensuring on-time delivery and optimal resource use.
• Ensure adherence to Wood and client HSE programs and permit to work requirements.
• Assign and manage resources to deliver high-quality work with minimal rework.

The Role

The Mechanical Supervisors will provide day to day supervision of the Mechanical and Piping teams in the delivery of work, to meet safety, operational reliability, quality, financial and productivity targets.

Providing supervision of multiple activities and work groups ensuring consistency, efficiency and continuous improvement of delivery.

To contribute to excellence in service delivery to the client through:

• The provision of leadership and supervision of the Mechanical / Piping disciplines, ensuring the delivery of the shutdown activities in line with safety and quality requirements.
• Participation in the effective planning, scheduling and coordination of the shutdown activities, completing work as required and ensuring shutdown objectives are met within the required timeframes
• Ensuring duties are performed in line with both Wood's and the clients' HSE programs

It is essential that the incumbent hold the following qualifications/certificates:

• Relevant Technical / Trade Qualification
• Construction White Card
• Current Drivers Licence

• Ensure all SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements) are developed, reviewed and understood and all associated paperwork is satisfactorily completed

• Maintain a zero tolerance for unsafe acts or behaviours and implement and deliver the Just and fair culture process as required
• Direct and assign the appropriate resources to complete tasks to ensure delivery of quality work and to avoid rework
• Prioritise, schedule and monitor works undertaken by trades, optimising the use of resources to provide timely and cost-effective services
• Demonstrated ability to interface with the client to understand requirements
