Job summary

Barto Gold is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor-support role to help optimise the performance, availability and safety of fixed plant at the Southern Cross Operations’ Processing Plant, while leading a small trades team in the supervisor's absence.

This permanent role operates on an 8/6 roster with BIBO from Perth and offers opportunities for career progression within a growing mining operation in Western Australia.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership qualities.
• High safety awareness.
• Minimum two years of mechanical experience in processing fixed plant maintenance—preferably gold.
• Self-motivated, well organized, and able to manage own work to achieve outcomes.
• Strong delivery focus and sense of urgency.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving skills and initiative.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Minimum of 3 years of mine site fixed plant mechanical experience
• 2 years of experience working in processing plants
• Minimum of 5 years post-apprentice mechanical work experience
• Experience with Pumps, Ball Mills, Centrifugal Concentrators, Crushers and Conveyors
• Experience with processing plant preventative maintenance programs and systems
• Working at Heights Ticket (recent)
• Confined Spaces Entry Ticket (recent)
• Current High Risk Work License consisting of CN (Slewing Crane – Desirable)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Mechanical Supervisor in optimising performance, availability and safety of fixed plant.
• Lead a small team of trades in the absence of the Mechanical Supervisor.
• Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown tasks for the processing plant and surrounding sites.
• Ensure maintenance is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate on an 8/6 roster with BIBO from Perth.
