Job summary

Workforce Extensions on the Gold Coast seeks a Mechanical Fitter to service and maintain industrial laundry machinery and production equipment, ensuring safe operation and minimal downtime. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and complete repairs to keep systems running smoothly.

Key duties include servicing washing machines, dryers, pumps, motors, gearboxes and conveyors; diagnosing faults; reading mechanical drawings; and assisting with welding when required.

Qualifications

• A recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification.
• Experience in mechanical fitting and industrial maintenance.
• Experience with industrial or commercial laundry machinery.
• Ability to fault-find and diagnose faults on automated production equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Forklift licence or experience is highly regarded.

Job description

This role will see you working within a busy commercial laundry facility, servicing and maintaining industrial laundry machinery and associated production equipment.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and complete mechanical repairs to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently while minimising production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Service and maintain industrial washing machines, dryers and associated laundry equipment

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance

• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot automated production equipment

• Maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors

• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

What's on Offer

• $65 per hour + overtime + superannuation

• Morning and afternoon shifts available

• Morning shift: approximately 6:00/7:00 am-2:00 pm

• Afternoon shift: 2:00 pm-10:00 pm

• Daily overtime may be available

• Saturday work may be required

• Ongoing work for suitable candidates

• Work continuing throughout the Christmas period

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification

• Previous mechanical fitting and industrial maintenance experience

• Experience with industrial or commercial laundry machinery highly regarded

• Experience maintaining automated or production-line equipment

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical manuals

• Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous

• Forklift licence or experience highly regarded

• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team

• Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays when required
