Job summary

Cairns Regional Council is seeking an Engineering Tradesperson to maintain and improve the plant and equipment at the Materials Recovery Facility. You will perform maintenance, repairs and optimisation of conveyors, hydraulics and gearboxes, carrying out fault-finding and preventative maintenance in a safety-focused team environment.

Requires a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner trade, current C-class licence, MR licence or ability to obtain, and vaccination clearance.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner.
• Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
• MR Licence or ability to obtain.
• Elevated Work Platform or ability to obtain.
• Vaccinations for Hepatitis A/B, Tetanus and Q Fever.
• Experience maintaining industrial plant and equipment including conveyors, hydraulics, gearboxes and bearings.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and optimise conveyors, hydraulics, gearboxes and other processing equipment.
