Job summary

Karlayura Personnel seeks an experienced Mechanical Fitter for relief contractor assignments at Boyne Smelters Limited in Gladstone. You will join the Reduction Lines team on a BSL Lifestyle Roster, performing planned maintenance and repairs at a major site.

Candidates should be trade-qualified with mining or heavy manufacturing experience. Yellow Medical is preferred and availability for the full assignment duration is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Planned and preventative mechanical maintenance.
• Breakdown maintenance and repairs.
• Mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Inspection of plant and equipment.
• Removal and replacement of mechanical components.
• Supporting equipment reliability and availability.
• Using relevant hand and power tools.
• Completing maintenance activities in accordance with site procedures.
• Working closely with operations and other maintenance personnel.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping.

• Roster: BSL Lifestyle Roster - 14 / Crew G
• Pay Rate: $64.68 per hour
• Medical: Yellow Medical required
• Engagement: CAT1 - 12 Relief Contractor

Assignment Options

Assignment 1

• Start: 7 October 2026
• Finish: 7 January 2027

Assignment 2

• Start: 23 November 2026
• Finish: 22 January 2027

About You

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter
• Relevant industrial/mining or heavy manufacturing experience
• Able to work the BSL Lifestyle Roster
• Available for the full duration of the assignment
• Current or recent Yellow Medical preferred

The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter within the Reduction Lines, you'll support mechanical maintenance activities across the operation while working as part of an established site team.

Your duties may include:

• Planned and preventative mechanical maintenance

• Inspection of plant and equipment
