Job summary

G3 Engineering is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for immediate starts in rostered maintenance roles at a major processing facility. You will join an established maintenance crew and perform preventative and breakdown maintenance to support plant reliability.

Ideal candidates hold a recognised Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner trade qualification with at least two years of maintenance experience. Willingness to relocate within the region and pass pre-employment checks is essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner.
• Minimum two years' relevant maintenance experience.
• Meat processing, food production or similar industrial experience highly regarded.
• Current White Card and ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing.
• Safe working mindset and commitment to long-term relocation.

Responsibilities

• Preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Mechanical fault-finding and repairs.
• Equipment inspections and servicing.
• Maintenance of conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, drives and rotating equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for tradespeople looking for stable, long-term work and who are open to eventually relocating to the South Burnett or broader Darling Downs region.

For suitable candidates, an initial DIDO arrangement can be offered, with short-term travel and accommodation incentives available while you settle into the role and decide whether the region is the right fit for you.

Our goal is to build a strong, long-term maintenance team, so we're particularly interested in people who see this as more than just a short-term DIDO opportunity.

THE PACKAGE

12-hour shifts

THE ROLE

Working as part of an experienced maintenance crew, you'll carry out mechanical maintenance across the facility to support plant reliability and minimise production downtime.

Duties may include:

Preventative and breakdown maintenance

Mechanical fault-finding and repairs

Equipment inspections and servicing

Maintenance of conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, drives and rotating equipment

Working safely within site procedures and maintenance schedules

ABOUT YOU

To be considered, you'll need:

Recognised Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner trade qualification

Minimum two years' relevant maintenance experience

Meat processing, food production or similar industrial experience highly regarded

Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

Current White Card

Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing
