Job summary

DIMES Australia Pty Ltd in Mackay (Bowen Basin, QLD) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our site maintenance team, servicing CHPP wash plant equipment to keep operations safe, reliable and efficient.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification – Mechanical Fitter required.
• Experience in CHPP operations and maintenance.
• Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 current or willing to obtain.
• Desirable: CSE, WAH, Gas Test Atmosphere, OH Crane certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of CHPP plant and wash plant equipment
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability
• Engage directly with clients to provide technical support, consultation, and product feedback
• Identify and implement improvement opportunities in equipment performance and reliability
• Support product performance by reporting issues, assisting with upgrades, and providing on-site feedback to clients and suppliers
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records in line with site procedures
• Promote and uphold a strong safety culture in all aspects of work
• Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and management to achieve operational goals

This role involves the servicing, maintenance, and optimisation of Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) wash plant equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Trade Qualification – Mechanical Fitter (Essential)

• Proven experience in CHPP operations and maintenance

• Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 (current or willing to obtain)

• Desirable: CSE, WAH, Gas Test Atmosphere, and OH Crane certifications

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients professionally

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment 

• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence 

• Current Australian driver's licence
