Job summary

Core Talent is partnered with a Sydney manufacturer sourcing two Maintenance Fitters for day and afternoon shifts in Marrickville, moving to Villawood next year. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, and site upgrades to ensure safe, efficient plant operation.

You will work with engineering and operations teams, manage spare parts, and help uphold WHS standards. Trade-qualification required; relocation may be needed.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification: Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical)
• Experience as a Maintenance Fitter or Machinist
• Experience in confined spaces and at heights
• Strong communication skills
• Willing to relocate to Villawood when site moves
• Food industry experience and First Aid/contractor management considered a plus

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on plant and equipment
• Perform upgrades, general repairs, fabrication and installations on site
• Test mechanical equipment and maintain tagging/testing register
• Liaise with contractors, engineering and operations teams
• Help manage the maintenance system and spare parts supply
• Keep the site safe, tidy and WHS compliant

Maintenance Fitter (x2) | Marrickville | $53 p/h + Super + Afternoon Loading

Two roles available: day shift and afternoon shift. Join a well-established Sydney manufacturer as they move to a new Villawood site.

About our client

We're partnering with a respected manufacturer that’s growing and moving to a new site at Villawood in February/March next year. They're looking for two Maintenance Fitters to keep their plant and equipment running safely and efficiently, and to be part of the move.

The roles and rosters

• 1 x Day shift: 6am to 2pm
• 1 x Afternoon shift: 2pm to 10pm
• Based in Marrickville, with the move to Villawood next year

The pay

• $53 per hour + super
• Afternoon shift loading for the afternoon role

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out preventative maintenance and mechanical breakdown repairs on plant and equipment
• Performing upgrades, general repairs, fabrication and installations around the site
• Conducting testing on mechanical equipment, plus tagging and testing equipment and maintaining the register
• Working with contractors, and the engineering and operations teams
• Helping manage the maintenance system and the supply of spare parts
• Keeping the site safe, tidy and compliant with WHS standards

About you

• Trade qualified: Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade)
• Experience as a Maintenance Fitter or Machinist, working with common hand tools and workshop equipment
• Experience working in confined spaces and at heights
• A positive, can-do attitude and strong communication skills
• Happy to relocate with the business to Villawood when the site moves
• Highly regarded: food industry experience, a First Aid certificate, contractor management experience, and electrical disconnect/reconnect
