Job summary

Stanmore Resources is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for the Maintenance Department at South Walker Creek. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy mobile equipment, diagnose faults and document daily maintenance as part of a safety‑first team.

Applicants should have a Mechanical Fitter trade qualification, 2+ years mining experience, and a proactive approach to waste reduction. SAP and MS Office skills are desirable with mentoring of apprentices expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Undertake preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance and refurbishment work.
• Perform diagnostics and fault finding to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate daily maintenance records and shift reports.
• Lead and mentor apprentices and promote safety standards.

Job description

We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team in our Maintenance Department at South Walker Creek.

You will need to demonstrate sound technical knowledge and experience in equipment operation within a coal mining environment, including:

• A strong commitment to Zero Harm;
• An ability to work and communicate well in a team environment;
• Compliance and knowledge with relevant mine site safety procedures, safe work instructions, standard operating procedures, legislation and rules.
• Undertake preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance, and refurbishment work.
• Ability to perform diagnostics, fault finding and quality workmanship on equipment to minimise down time.
• Ability to complete accurate daily maintenance records and trade shift reporting.
• Strong leadership to ensure your team consistently follow the standards and procedures promoting a safe work environment..
• Coaching and mentoring of apprentices.
• Positively influence the development and direction of maintenance strategies and processes to meet site requirements.

To be part of our ongoing success you will have:

• Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical
• Have proven experience on Marion 8050 Dragline's
• Have proven experience as a fitter maintaining heavy mobile equipment including but not limited to: Cat Bulldozers, Graders, and Loaders
• Mechanical Fitter or equivalent Trade qualified with 2 years post trade experience in a mining or similar environment
• Demonstrate a proactive approach and a positive outlook to waste reduction and cost effectiveness
• General computer skills with SAP & Microsoft office programs
• A passion for safety as a way of life - zero harm focus
• Compliance and exceptional knowledge of mine safety procedures, regulations, safe work instructions, legislation and rules
• Leading Hand experience (desirable)
