Job summary

ConsultANZ is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician for a full-time role in South Australia. The position involves servicing and maintaining a diverse range of equipment, with a salary of AUD 74,000–90,000 plus super.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and contribute to a robust maintenance program. The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering qualification (desirable), at least four years of heavy machinery experience, reliable communication, and the ability to work overtime

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in heavy machinery maintenance.
  • Reliable with good communication skills.
  • Willing to work overtime and learn new technology.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, service and modify a broad range of machinery and equipment.
  • Perform workshop maintenance and servicing of equipment and machinery.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and repair.
  • Measure parts and assess wear to determine replacements.
  • Interpret drawings to determine component specifications.
  • Select materials and machine settings; assemble machined parts.
  • Inspect fabricated components for proper sizing.
  • Test repaired parts for proper performance.
  • Create and follow a maintenance schedule.

Mechanical Engineering Technician Full-time

ConsultANZ seeks a full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician for a client to work on a diverse range of equipment to service and maintain in South Australia. $74,000 - 90,000 + super

South Australia

Repair and maintenance of diesel engines
  • Maintaining, repairing, servicing and modifying a broad range of machinery and equipment in line with relevant transport legislation and standards.
  • Workshop maintenance to include all servicing and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
  • Using computers, instruments and specialised tools to diagnose and repair faults.
  • Measure parts to ascertain the extent of the damage and wear and tear, and then repair or replace the parts.
  • Analysing drawings to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed.
  • Determines suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings.
  • Assemble and fit machined parts.
  • Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size.
  • Testing repaired parts for proper performance.
  • Creating a suitable maintenance schedule and performing system maintenance accordingly.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification - Mechanical Engineering is desirable
  • Highly skilled and experienced in heavy machinery and equipment maintenance with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Reliable and has good communication skills.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
  • High attention to detail and display a positive & self-motivated attitude.
  • Good management skills and can work with minimal supervision and work in a team environment.
  • Must have a current Driver's Licence.
  • Must be able to utilise job instructions.
  • Must be flexible and able to do overtime.
  • Able to learn new technology if needed.
  • Able to fit into a family-operated business.
