Job summary

ProFound People Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join their permanent team, focusing on water and wastewater projects.

You will produce concept designs, detailed drawings and layouts, read P&IDs, and work with clients and contractors to deliver designs within deadlines and budgets.

The role offers stability in a growing engineering group; you will collaborate across disciplines and contribute to testing, commissioning, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in mechanical design engineering.
• Experience designing water/wastewater plants and systems.
• Able to read P&IDs and interpret drawings.
• Proficient with 3D CAD tools (Inventor/SolidWorks/Fusion 360).

Responsibilities

• Producing concept designs, detailed drawings, layouts and technical documentation.
• Assisting with design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment systems.
• Working collaboratively with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
• Providing technical engineering support across design.
• Preparing and reviewing engineering documentation, reports and technical information.
• Supporting construction, testing and commissioning activities where required.
• Working within a collaborative, growing engineering team on a variety of projects.
