Job summary

You will produce concept designs, detailed drawings and layouts, read P&IDs, and work with clients and contractors to deliver designs within deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in mechanical design engineering.
• Experience designing water/wastewater plants and systems.
• Able to read P&IDs and interpret drawings.
• Proficient with 3D CAD tools (Inventor/SolidWorks/Fusion 360).

Responsibilities

• Producing concept designs, detailed drawings, layouts and technical documentation.
• Assisting with design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment systems.
• Working collaboratively with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
• Providing technical engineering support across design.
• Preparing and reviewing engineering documentation, reports and technical information.
• Supporting construction, testing and commissioning activities where required.
• Working within a collaborative, growing engineering team on a variety of projects.

SALARY - $110,000 - $130,000 per annum, dependent on experience

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Sydney, NSW

My client provides specialist engineering solutions in the Water & Wastewater sector. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with relevant industry experience to join their team in Sydney on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
• Experience designing treatment plants and related systems for Water or Wastewater projects
• Able to read and interpret P&IDs
• Highly skilled with 3D CAD, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 etc.
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
• Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
• Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
