Job summary

Anduril Australia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to help design, test, and deliver next‑generation unmanned systems, including XL‑AUV programs. You'll develop detailed mechanical designs, run simulations, and ensure compliance with maritime standards while collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, hands‑on experience with complex systems, and the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Naval Architecture, or equivalent.
• Professional experience as Mechanical Engineer or similar role.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Capacity to work holistically on complex mechanical systems across design, implementation, operation and sustainment.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Support plans and specifications for new designs or derivatives of XL-AUVs.
• Create detailed mechanical designs, prototypes and build of complex structures.
• Simulation and analysis of designs including modal/spectral analysis.
• Ensure designs meet maritime standards and regulations.
• Inspect parts, sub-systems, and vehicles to meet specs.
• Design and implement integrated systems with clear evolution paths.
• Collaborate with end-users and stakeholders across teams.
• Develop reusable components across Anduril product lines.
• Support development processes and DVT testing for hardware.
