Job summary

You will lead design activities, mentor junior engineers, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate objectives into hardware.

A strong background in power systems and simulations, plus the ability to obtain NV2 clearance, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Senior experience in defence, tech or fast-paced environments delivering electrical projects from concept to market launch.
• Expertise in electrical engineering principles, techniques and technologies with track record of innovative solutions.
• Proficiency in using industry-standard electrical design and simulation software.
• Excellent interpersonal, mentoring and collaborative skills.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities to deliver on time and within budget.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to evolving challenges.
• Strong written and verbal communication to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with fast-paced environment practices including agility and adaptability.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Australian Government Security Clearance (NV2).

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and design of innovative electrical systems and products that meet our requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate electrical systems into larger product designs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business objectives into electrical deliverables.
• Create and maintain documentation including design specs, test procedures, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety throughout product lifecycle.
• Perform detailed electrical calculations, simulations, and testing to evaluate performance.
• Troubleshoot electrical challenges and deliver rapid, practical solutions.
• Meet project timelines and budgets; manage time and resources.
• Stay up-to-date with latest advancements and apply them to improve products.
