Job summary

ProFound People Pty Ltd in Perth seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design heavy equipment and assemblies on a permanent basis. You will develop 3D models, create detailed drawings and work with fabrication teams to resolve issues.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 2+ years of experience in heavy industry, with proficiency in SolidWorks or Inventor and a strong focus on manufacturability.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in Mechanical Design Engineering or similar.
• Experience in heavy equipment, mining, industrial or manufacturing sectors.
• Proficient with 3D CAD, SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Ability to review designs and drive manufacturability.
• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for heavy equipment and components.
• Produce 3D models, assemblies and engineering drawings.
• Design components and assemblies for bespoke equipment.
• Review designs for accuracy, quality and manufacturability.
• Work with manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues.
• Liaise with suppliers and external providers.
• Support prototype builds, testing and design validation.
• Identify design improvements and efficiencies.
• Manage design tasks from concept to production.
