• Assist with installation, alignment and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Read engineering drawings and technical manuals; use MEX CMMS.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll gain hands on experience maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of manufacturing equipment that keeps our plant operating safely and efficiently.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Fitter & Turner Apprentice, you will complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade while receiving practical on-the-job training.Working under the guidance of experienced Mechanical Fitters, you will develop skills in:

• Preventative and breakdown maintenance of industrial plant and equipment.
• Installation, alignment and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
• Bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Precision measurement, fitting and assembly techniques.
• Fault finding and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Safe use of workshop machinery and hand tools.
• Welding and fabrication tasks where required.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical manuals.
• Working within a computerised maintenance management system (MEX).
• Maintaining a strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental standards.

About You
