The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our Infrastructure Workshop. You will maintain and repair a diverse fleet, diagnose faults, and work collaboratively with colleagues to keep essential services moving.

In this role you will supervise or mentor an apprentice, promote safety, and provide inductions on plant operation. The position is based in Margaret River, WA, with a 9-day fortnight and full-time hours.

Formación

• Mechanical Trade Certificate required.
• Experience servicing light vehicles.
• Ability to diagnose faults and provide solutions for plant and equipment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Ability to provide inductions on safe operation of plant and equipment.
• Experience mentoring an apprentice or trainee.

Responsabilidades

About the role

From routine servicing to complex fault diagnosis, you'll play a key role in maintaining the Shire's fleet, plant and equipment to keep our operations running safely and efficiently. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Service, maintain and repair Shire light vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults, identify solutions and carry out quality repairs.
• Collaborate with fellow mechanics to service and repair heavy plant.
• Maintain tools, equipment and workshop facilities in a safe, clean and serviceable condition.
• Follow all occupational safety and health requirements and promote safe work practices.
• Provide inductions on the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and provide professional customer service in line with the Shire's Customer Service Charter.

About you

• A Mechanical Trade Certificate .
• Strong experience servicing and maintaining light vehicles.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose faults and recommend effective solutions for plant and equipment.
• The ability to work independently, manage your workload and deliver results with limited supervision.
• Sound technical and operational judgement, particularly when it comes to maintenance and safety.
• The ability to provide inductions on the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Experience supervising or mentoring an apprentice or trainee.

Salary: $95,000 plus superannuation, salary packaging and Recreation Centre membership
