Job summary

United Rentals Australia/New Zealand is seeking a Service Technician (Mechanic) based near Burton, SA. You will inspect, service, repair and test earthmoving and access equipment, ensuring safety and readiness for hire.

The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, working in both workshop and field settings, and maintaining spare parts stock and service records. Ideal candidates are physically fit, detail‑oriented, reliable, and team‑oriented, with a mechanical/auto-electrical

About the Role

As a Service Technician (Mechanic) based inBurton, SA you’ll be responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing and testing a variety of hire equipment to ensure it is safe, clean, and ready for use. The role also involves diagnosing and correcting mechanical and electrical problems, working in the workshop and field, maintaining a small spare parts and workshop consumables stock, housekeeping, safety and record keeping.

What experience are we looking for?

• Advanced servicing, repairing and testing of earthmoving and access equipment.
• Diagnostic of hydraulic systems and diesel engines.
• A good understanding and application of auto-electrics and electrical systems.
• Ability to weld will be an advantage.
• Accurate completion of service records.
• Following safety procedures and supporting a positive team environment.

Qualifications and required experience

• Driver’s License.
• A mechanical, auto-electrical, hydraulic or associated trade (TA’s considered).
• Recent experience working in equipment maintenance and repairs.
• High Risk Work Licenses in forklift, boomlift an advantage.
• Tickets for scissorlift & telehandler an advantage .
• Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE use.
