Job summary

Harris Farm Markets in Mosman is seeking a skilled Butcher to prepare, present and sell premium protein, ensuring customer satisfaction and teaching the next generation of Meat Assistants. You will break down, portion and present meat to Harris Farm standards, while creating value-added items and maintaining exceptional cleanliness and safety on your station.

You will mentor junior staff, back your Butcher Manager, and thrive in a fast-paced, community-focused environment that rewards dedication

Qualifications

• Love of protein and meat, with experience in fresh food retail.
• Strong communication with customers or new team members.
• Ability to back your manager and step up when off the floor.
• Willingness to show new team members the Harris Farm way, not just the technical side.
• Enjoy variety and being on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Break down, bone, portion and prepare meat to Harris Farm specification, with cuts, weights, trim and presentation that make the cabinet look incredible
• Get creative with value added products like marinades, skewers, burger patties, sausages and roasts
• Quality check every delivery and send back anything that doesn’t meet our standards
• Use your trade judgement to cut waste and turn trim into something sellable
• Keep your blocks, boards, counters and tools spotless, because a butcher’s station is their reputation
• Own cold chain, hygiene and food safety, end to end, every shift
