Job summary

Harris Farm Markets in Australia is seeking a skilled Butcher to prepare, present and sell high-quality protein products to customers. You will guide customers to the right cut with advice you can’t get at a supermarket and help the next generation of Meat Assistants learn under you.

Responsibilities include breaking down meat, ensuring accurate cuts and consistent presentation, and preparing value-added products while maintaining strict hygiene and cold-chain standards.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a fresh food retail business.
• Maintain cold chain, hygiene and food safety end-to-end.
• Mentor and coach junior team members on meat prep.

Responsibilities

• Break down, bone, portion and prepare meat to Harris Farm specification.
• Produce consistent, accurate cuts, weight, trim and presentation.
• Prepare value-added products, marinades, skewers, burger patties, sausages, roasts.
• Quality-check every delivery, reject anything that doesn't meet HFM standards.
• Use your trade judgement to minimise waste, turn trim into something sellable.
