Job summary

Action Workforce, in partnership with Team Global Express, is seeking an experienced MC Linehaul Driver for ongoing casual opportunities supporting B-Double shuttle operations. Depart Mt Isa at 2am for long overnight trips to McArthur River Mine site and back, with midweek local work. Trailers, loads and safety procedures are part of daily duties.

Induction and drug screening are included. Candidate must have MC license, AFM/BFM accreditation, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid MC Driver’s License.
• BFM or AFM accreditation.
• Experience in linehaul trucking and load restraint knowledge.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete all pre-start checks at the beginning of each shift.
• Couple/uncouple trailers daily and manage load restraints.
• Assist with loading/unloading and secure loads for transit.
• Drive overnight trips Mt Isa to McArthur River Mine site (NR) and return.
• Support operations at the mine site and warehouse as needed.

Job description

Action Workforce, in partnership with Team Global Express, is seeking experienced MC Linehaul Driver for ongoing casual opportunities supporting B-Double shuttle operations.

The position involves two overnight trips to McArthur River Mine site in the NT per week, these are usually double or triple road trains.

Competitive Pay Rate: 0.75cent per KM & or $47.60 hourly

Key Responsibilities

• Hold a valid MC Driver’s License
• Fit to Drive Commercial Medical
• BFM or AFM accreditation
• Competent in Trailer Coupling & Uncoupling daily
• Ability to complete all pre-Start checks at the beginning of each shift

Role

Departing from Mt Isa at 2am on Monday morning to head to MRM approx. 12hr trip one way and get back into Mt Isa Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday is a standard 7.6hr workday (06:00 - 14:00) locally to go again at 2am to MRM on the Thursday morning to be back into Mt Isa on the Friday.

The role also requires the driver to take trailers to the warehouse and sometimes elsewhere onsite then assist to unstrap the load at the mine site onsite. The mine then unloads and reload and the driver would have to help re-strap the load and check it on the way back to Mt Isa.

Skills & Experience

• Experienced MC Linehaul driver
• Experience in commercial truck driving
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of Load Restraints
• Co-operate with your employer to ensure all safe work procedures are adhered to
