Job summary

McNaughts Transport in Dubbo is seeking an experienced MC Driver to deliver general freight locally with occasional regional trips. You will operate late-model Scania or similar automatic vehicles, supported by a professional operations team.

Ideal candidates hold a valid MC licence, bulk DG accreditation (or willingness to obtain), a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work autonomously or with the team. Forklift license is desirable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily local pickups and deliveries of general freight (pallets/skids/IBC).
• Regular regional travel for pickups, deliveries, or driver changeovers.
• Safely transport bulk dangerous goods in compliance with DG regulations.
• Complete pre-start checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness and logs.
• Collaborate with dispatch and operations to ensure efficient scheduling.

Job description

McNaughts Transport is on the lookout for an experienced MC Driver who is dedicated and determined with outstanding customer service skills, a positive attitude, and an excellent work ethic.

We are seeking a qualified and safety-conscious MC Driver (preferably with bulk DG accreditation or willing to obtain) to join our team based in Dubbo. This is a full-time role involving local pick-up and delivery across Central West NSW, with occasional regional trips or changeovers. You will be operating a late-model Scania or automatic vehicle, supported by a professional operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily local pickup and deliveries of general freight – consisting mainly of pallets/skids and IBC's.
• Regular regional travel for pick-ups, deliveries, or driver changeovers.
• Safely transport bulk dangerous goods in compliance with DG regulations.
• Complete pre-start checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness and logs.
• Work closely with the dispatch and operations teams to ensure efficient scheduling.

Requirements:

• Valid MC driver's license.
• Bulk Dangerous Goods accreditation (or willingness to obtain).
• Clean driving record and strong safety mindset.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and reliable work ethic.
• Be well presented, punctual and flexible to changing work requirements
• Be efficient in completing the necessary delivery paperwork including run sheets and work diaries
• Knowledge of the load restraint guide and experience in loading/securing general freight
• Previous experience in local/regional/interstate transport operations.
• Familiarity with Central West Locations.
• Experience with late-model Scania or similar automatic vehicles.
• Holding a forklift license would be desirable
• Modern, well-maintained Scania automatic vehicle.
