Job summary

Mater Mothers Hospital Springfield is seeking a part-time Clinical Facilitator - Maternity for parental leave cover, working 32 hours per fortnight from 18/01/27 to 03/01/28. Based at Springfield, the role supports staff education and patient care in a state-of-the-art, large maternity service.

The role offers an hourly rate of $57.48–$61.55 plus superannuation and not-for-profit salary packaging, with access to staff benefits and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife or Registered Nurse/Midwife (dual degree).
• Demonstrated clinical education, facilitation or supervision experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse teams.
• Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty or education (desirable).
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical guidance, mentorship and support to staff across areas of practice.
• Plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based education and professional development.
• Identify and address learning needs to enhance clinical knowledge, skills and behaviours.
• Support staff to work to full scope of practice and deliver safe, high-quality care.
• Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers, Area Managers and Education Coordinators to align activities.
• Incorporate simulation, assessment and other learning methodologies into education delivery.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability and clinical excellence.
• Support students and early career clinicians during placements and transitions to practice.
• Participate in research, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to implementation of change and evidence-based improvement across Mater Health.
