Job summary

NSW Health in Queanbeyan is seeking a Clinical Midwife Educator for a temporary full-time role. The position involves delivering on-site educational programs, mentoring staff, and enhancing clinical competencies within a rural hospital setting.

Remuneration is $62.68–$64.71 per hour, with a 38-hour week and a 29 October 2026 to 10 January 2028 contract window. Applicants must be an AHPRA-registered Midwife with post-registration qualifications and a willingness to pursue trainer certification.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife.
• Post-registration clinical or education qualifications and/or willingness to work towards certification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the relevant clinical area with knowledge of competency/skills for quality care.
• Experience as a preceptor/mentor with contemporary education methods to motivate staff.
• Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate education using adult learning principles.
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical training at ward/unit level by formulating and delivering in-service education programs.
• Assesses and demonstrates clinical procedures to staff.
• Fosters a preceptor/mentor role to support less experienced staff in skill development.
