Job summary

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking a compassionate Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join our Mater Mothers team in this permanent, part-time role working 32 hours per week. Based at the Springfield campus, you will support Registered Midwives to deliver safe, patient-centred care and help maintain a clean, well‑stocked ward in a state‑of‑the‑art facility that serves a growing community.

We offer competitive hourly pay ($35.05–$38.38) plus superannuation, salary packaging and access to staff

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (or currently working towards completion).
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to patient-centred care and safety standards.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Support patients with activities of daily living and promote comfort and wellbeing.
• Provide one-to-one patient support and assist with supervision where required.
• Assist clinical teams to deliver safe patient care under supervision.
• Maintain stock levels and support equipment cleaning and upkeep.
• Assist with transport of specimens and patient-related items as required.
• Contribute to a clean, safe environment in line with infection prevention standards.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support outcomes.
