Job summary

Austal Defence Australia (ADA) is seeking a Material Officer to manage the accurate and timely codification and maintenance of inventory catalogue data, while building relationships with key stakeholders across defence and shipbuilding operations.

You will lead codification policy and assist with stocktaking plans, leveraging ERP and asset management systems to ensure efficient material planning and requisition processes across Austal's Western Australia facilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within Marine Support, Engineering, Manufacturing or Defence organisation.
• Working experience in a computerised ERP environment.
• Experience with, and understanding of, asset management standards, systems and processes.
• Experience with, understanding of codification and cataloguing.
• Ability to achieve engineering delegation within the Austal delegation procedures.

• Provide obsolescence support through Supply Chain Obsolescence surveillance coordination and assessments.

• Review and release auto-generated material requisitions against demand requirements.
