Job summary

Austal Defence Australia (ADA) is seeking a Purchasing Officer to coordinate sourcing and purchasing activities, manage supplier relationships, issue purchase orders and support project procurement requirements to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. You will collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to maintain high standards of service, quality and cost outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in purchasing/procurement or supply chain support.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Computer literacy and systems proficiency.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving mindset and proactive approach.
  • Eligibility for Defence Security Clearance.
  • Certificate in Purchasing, Supply Chain or related discipline.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering or project-based environments.
  • Experience using Pronto.
  • CIPS qualifications or working towards.

Job description

As the Purchasing Officer for Austal Defence Australia (ADA), you’ll be responsible for coordinating sourcing and purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, issuing purchase orders and supporting project procurement requirements to ensure materials and services are delivered efficiently and on time. Working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, you'll contribute to effective supply chain operations while maintaining strong service, quality and cost outcomes.
